The Pack Commitee is responsible for managing the affairs of the pack, from planning, budgetting, overseeing advancement, etc.

The Pack is overseen by an executive committee which plans the Pack meetings, plans and works on the events, oversees the advancement of the boys, manages the financial matters of the Pack and coordinates certain events. Ideally the Key positions on the Executive committee would be filled by people other than the den leaders since they are already very involved.

In our short history we have relied on the Den leaders to for most of the Committee members. We really can't continue to have a vital pack if only a few parents contribute.

Some of the positions are already filled but we are still need to fill several of the Committee positions:

This is not a lot of work the key item is reconciling the account, taking deposits to the bank after fund raising events, and reimbursing the den leaders or event leaders for expenses incurred.
Event chairperson
This person would be responsible for arranging various events, keeping up with the district events made available to the pack, arranging for event adult coverage (all overnight and most other events are parent child required) and for making sure we file the appropriate paperwork with the district for any trips. We have already made a preliminary calendar which could be supplemented with additional items. Do we have a volunteer?
Communications Director
We do a lot of fun events and it would be great if we could get some of them in the local paper as well as pull together some photos or narratives on the events for the Blue and Gold year end banquet. Do I see a volunteer?
Advancement Chairperson
This person would be responsible for contacting the den leaders before each pack meeting to see if any awards will be made at the meeting and for going to the district to purchase the awards with Pack funds.
Membership Chairperson
Each year we need to re-charter the Pack which involves some paperwork (I think most is online). Sue Yonnone has done this the past few years and since her son will be completing Webelos we will need a replacement. In addition, this person will be responsible for recruiting new scouts and leaders into the pack
Training Director
Each den leader and various other leadership positions will require that the individual be trained. This person will be responsible for making sure our leaders are trained reviewing the training calendar and making those in need aware of the available dates. Do I see a hand?
It is critical that we have these roles filled if we want the boys to have a great program.
